Vegetable Cheese Rolls

Hello Everyone! I was planning to post kid friendly snacks for a long time. When I got this idea of making vegetable rolls with cheese,  luckily I had some bread slices left. Most of the kids love cheese, so I decided to add veggies to it and make it healthier. This snack can be served with a glass of milk or fresh juice. The recipe is very easy to make. Now here you go with the making of rolls....

Ingredients

Bread slices
6
Onion (finely chopped)
½ cup
Garlic (finely chopped)
4 cloves
Carrot (juvenile cut)
2
Cabbage (juvenile cut)
1 cup
Pepper powder
½ tsp
Green chilli sauce
½ tsp
Red chilli sauce
½ tsp
Soya sauce
½ tsp
Cheese slices
6
Tomato ketchup
For spreading
Green sandwich spread
As needed
Butter
As needed
Salt
For taste

Method

Making of stuffing for bread

  • In a skillet, heat a tsp of oil.Add garlic fry for few mins, then add onion and saute until it turns golden brown color.
  • Now add carrot and saute for few mins, then add cabbage and  fry in high flame for few mins.

  • Add little salt along with pepper powder, soy sauce, green chili sauce and red chili sauce. Saute for few mins and keep it aside. This will be the stuffing for the rolls.

Now making of bread rolls

  • Cut the sides of all the bread slices and keep it aside. Now roll the bread with rolling pin into thin slices.
  • Place the cheese slice over the bread.

  • Add green chutney on one slice of the bread and spread the tomato ketchup on the other.
  • Then put the previously prepared stuffing over the sauce.
  • Then on the other end of the bread apply little water so that when we roll the bread it will be easy to stick the rolls.
  • Do all the rolls and keep it aside for cooking.

Cooking of rolls

  • In a skillet add a tbsp of butter, allow it to melt.
  • Now place all the rolls one by one in the skillet.
  • Allow the rolls to be cooked golden brown in color all the sides, this process may take little time.
  • Once the rolls are cooked, take them and cut them into two halves. You will see the cheese coming out of the rolls.

  • Now serve the hot and yummy rolls with ketchup.

Tips

  • You can use wheat bread and even avoid cheese.
  • You can also add potato, beans, green peas and paneer for kids.
  • Carefully add water to the bread, it's just used for sticking of bread rolls . If you add more water the bread will become too soggy.
  • Instead of adding butter you can also add oil to the skillet.
