Yummy Avocado Milkshake

Anyone out there who has strong food cravings at weird timings? (hand raised here). Last week I had a craving for red-velvet cake! Apparently when I was 2 yr old I woke up in the midnight and craved for apple and my dad actually went and got it for me (Yes! I have the best dad in the world).

Today morning, I know its not summer yet but had a crave for creamy milkshake. I could have asked my husband but u know he is one of those who goes overboard and get extra creamy milkshake with extra large fries & some white chocolate cookies and make me hit the gym later :(

So,I decided to be this awesome independent? girl and dragged myself to refrigerator to find the  ice-cream carton empty*sob sob*. I could feel a dollop of hope sliding down my throat. No I wouldn't give up so easily, continued raiding my refrigerator and found a Avocado (ah,Godsend!) It really turned my frown upside down and let me show you how delicious avocado shake can be.

So you would need just 3 ingredients
  • one ripe avocado(peeled & pitted)
  • 3 tsp honey/sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk and few ice-cubes(optional)

METHOD

Scoop out the buttery flesh out of avocado and add it to blender with the other ingredients. Puree it until smooth and creamy. Pour into glasses, quickly take a pic of it *wink* and serve.

Tips

1) Avocado is called Butter fruit in India and is available in most of the cities.
2) You can add more milk if you prefer thinner consistency
3) You can use coconut milk/ almond milk instead of dairy milk.
4) Avocado has 'good-for-you' fat which helps in maintaining a healthy heart.
5) Ridiculously versatile-you can make a milkshake,dip,fries,sweet,spread... and the list goes on.

It helps your hunger and sometimes serves a good one time meal too.
