Basundi

I often have those days when I want to make a dessert, but don't want to take hours together for creating a grand masterpiece of deliciousness. Especially when I am having guests over, I would like to rely on recipe that are ‘mess free’, quick and preferably the ones that can be prepared in advance without having my guests to see the crime scene that my kitchen would turn out to be while I am cooking.

So either you are having those ‘need a dessert in a hurry’ cravings or having your friends over whom you want to really please – this is the recipe for you!

I cannot assure you that this can be made in a blink of an eye. But I can definitely assure you that it is insanely simple with no complex procedure yet tastes absolutely brilliant – like you put more efforts than you actually did!

Two Ingredients Peanut Butter Fudge

You know what, I thought I cannot survive without bread and peanut butter for as long as I can remember until I figured out one day that it was all just a fad.

And then peanut butter cookies looked fancy to me but it was short lived too.( not that, I wont have one now! But just not as fancy as it was before). One thing that has stood the test of time as of now is peanut butter itself. I am not tired of it YET!(maybe sooner, maybe later or maybe never)

And for ‘God knows why’ but I assumed cupcakes were no cupcakes without frosting! Little did I knew of myself then that I would rather eat up all cupcakes as it is than spend time and efforts for the frosting.

I mean, cupcakes are adorable and sent straight from heaven! Who even need frosting! At least, I don’t! And I don't do full sized cakes at home as its just me who has sweet tooth for the two at home. Its better I don't eat the whole cake all on my own(which I am capable of) or I be prepared to hit the gym which I don't. So cupcakes it is !

Oh, where am I even going! Back to business now. It so happened that I had a jar of creamy peanut butter and vanilla frosting lying in my pantry for quite some time and the  over-enthusiastic ‘me’ was all over Pinterest looking for interesting recipes.

And when I bumped on this recipe that used JUST THESE TWO INGREDIENTS, my joy knew no bounds! I just had to make it… that very minute or maybe that very second! Coz it’s that simple!

No bake, no piles of messy dishes to clean and you can even do it with eyes closed ! That simple!

Diwali Treats

Diwali is always a grand affair in India. It is more like what Christmas is to the Christians.
A riot of everything happy and cheerful; of lights and fireworks!
A day of food, festivities and grandeur.

Have you ever seen children eager to wake up way before the sun rises.. excited to have bath and fight to be the first one to get all ready? No? You should totally visit Indian homes during Diwali to witness such a scene.

Sabudana Kheer/Sago Milk Pudding

It was one of those “grumpy for no reason” kinda day! The whole day was just gloomy. Then came home the husband and in no time, there was this magic spell that brightened my day completely! I was all smiles and happy!

Wait, I am talking about a sweet box that he brought along with him :D. The boss at work had given him Milk Pudding as Bakrid treat. Being the ‘no dessert’ guy and umm.. well, let me give him the credit, a sweet husband that he is - he has brought the box for the wife who can eat desserts even as meals.

One spoon of the creamy kheer was enough for me to get lost in its divine and rich taste. When I came back to reality, my day was all colored. It was like the “I am feeling lucky” on Picasa. One touch and all fixed!  And so that made me want to try Sabudana Kheer. It turned out equally good and here is the recipe for you.
